shannon and i tried to edit our profiles...i'm not sure if we did it right. we is not smart.

Red Scarf Girl

I ordered it off of Amazon last week. It should be coming in today's mail as I received notification that it was shipped on Friday. I did receive yesterday: Survivor, Lightness of Being and Dr. Robin's book.

I'm a little worried about the bc throw down challange....our eyes might fall out! :oP But you are right, we are sexy even if we are geeky enough to read books (gasp) and BLOG.

Our Account Profile

You know when you click on the contributors name it shows you thier profile info and it show how many times it's been viewed.... how come mine is like in the twenties and everyone else is below ten or low teens at least?

Who knew I was that popular? Kind of creepy if you ask me.

Upcoming reads

Ok guys, I admit, I might have screwed up when I recommended Marie Antionette. You can check it out on Amazon.com. They have exerpts and stuff posted on it so you can look a the table of contents, index, front & back covers.... It might be a long dry read.

If you want to pick an alternative to it, you won't hurt my feelings. Although in the depths of January we all might be looking for a long book to curl up with...

In the meantime, I've ordered the Red Scarf Girl for a whopping $.93 (plus shipping). I think I need a 12 step meeting for on-line shopping (and blogging).

This weekend

Don't forget to change your clocks this weekend.

Shannon is going to post (congrats on figuring it out) the rest of the books. The rice saki was soooo nasty. The dumplings and avacodo sushi were grand, a good time was had by all. I got kris home by 8:59. We're having the next one in Lackawacawanna on Sat Nov 18th was it? Correct me if i'm wrong on that one shannon. book club rocks! west side mofo! true that peeps.

Take that

Ha!! I figured it out. Apparently I have two blogger accounts. I think I set one up a long time ago for Freakonomics blog. So if I don't log into the right one I can't post. I have some Asian treats (and some safer alternatives) for this evening! See everyone soon!

get ready to get your kristine on

The quirky and elusive kristine may be at book club tonight. I'm so proud of Erika and maureen for figuring out how to blog (unlike some other members i could mention *glowers at shannon and kelley*). I think this could be a lot of fun. It seems like we're all losing our blog cherry on this thing so i will try to be gentle, but i'm sure after a while we'll get used to it...then we'll kind of enjoy it...then we'll be really into it, trying new things, screaming for more.....wow this post took a lascivious turn i didn't expect. i suddenly feel the need for a cigarette. see you guys tonight.

How to Post Instructions

When you sign into your blog account click on our blog name. Then it should list all the different topics that are out there that we've all posted. At the top (left of the screen) you will see a tab that's Blue saying Create New Post, Click on it and it will take you to a new screen that looks like you'll be typing an e-mail. Type your blog stuff and then click on the orange tab on the bottom saying Publish Post.

If you are not logged in as your user name (in your account) it will not take you to this screen and you will not be able to post but only comment on existing posts.

Have fun!

Yea Blogging!

Here is my manifesto... yep don't have one.. but now we can blog I will have to work on it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight and finally talking about the book!

World's most dangerous bookclub

Friday the 13th

I guess there is a ping of coincedence that there is a jinx on friday the 13th for book club!!
Let's hear some horror stories!

first blog!

I just thought i would try to create a blog for book club. What do you guys think? This way we can share information all the time about book club and have discussions about the book where everyone can see them. This is very Vygotskian by the way. :)
