At last Red Scarf Girl...
Red Scarf finally arrived in yesterday's mail. I'm almost 1/2 way through it. I'm hoping to have it finished by Sunday afternoon. If anyone wants it when I'm done let me know. I've also finished with Lies at the Altar, if anyone wants that as well.

that be no woman, that be a damn reading machine. How did you like lies at the altar? i hope red scarf girl doesn't suck. thumbs up or thumbs down?
I reserve my right to withhold judgment at this time. I will not release my findings until after election day like a good little republican. :oP
I started The Glass Castle in the meantime and it is fabulous!!!! Highly recommend for a future book club endeavor.
i haven't read red scarf girl but you make it sound like it's politcally charged, should be interesting reading and discussing, at least i hope.
I know Erika wanted to read The Glass Castle too. I'm sure it will make it's way on to our must read list.
I'd give Red Scarf a half a thumb up so far, as I haven't finished reading it, but I don't want to sound like a Commie Pinko. I'm thinking if you like politics, history or memiors people will like it. If you are not up on your history or communisim, I'm thinking you'll hate it. Bonus though it is an easy read aside from a few Red Chinese phrases from time to time.
Unfortunatey, it may go against our motto of not wanting to learn something.
2 days before Red Scarf got here I started reading Marie Antoinette, and I had to put it down in order to make sure I get Red Scarf done in time for our next meeting. Who knew, the book (Marie) has pictures in it. I'm all for picture books!! But I still think Black Daliah might be more enjoyable as a group read.
My Red Scarf girl just arrived in the mail. Super speedy since i ordered it on Sun night. I still think I'm going to finish the Glass Castle first. First day- maybe an hour of reading and i'm on pg 65.
